Both sites are an easy drive from the port of Mahahual and our courteous drivers and English speaking professional guides (groups of 5 or more) will ensure that you enjoy your day and return safely and on time to the cruise ship terminal. Just 50 minutes from the port of Mahahual and on the shores of beautiful Bacalar Lagoon, Bacalar Lagoon Resort is available for small groups of cruise ship passengers for day trips. Awarded the Certificate of Excellence for the past 10 consecutive years this resort is isolated in a wildlife sanctuary and is accessible via a short road through the jungle and offers peace and tranquility in a truly supernatural setting. Enjoy the view of the turquoise water or hop aboard one of the kayaks provided to take a tour of the lagoon or just relax on the beach under a coconut palm and enjoy a cold piña colada. We are also only 20 minutes away from the archeological site of Chaccoben where there are prehispanic pyramids and guides to explain the history of the site.

BACALAR LAGOON RESORT AND CHACCHOBEN TOUR: Transportation from the port of Mahahual to Chaccoben ruins where you will be given a guided tour for approximately 1 and a half hours and then off to Bacalar Lagoon Resort for approximately two hours and then back to the cruise ship port where you will arrive 1 hour before departure of the vessel. This tour includes all transportation , a lunch and 3 drinks of your choice at the resort. Cost: $80 usd per person. No charge for children under 5 and children ages 5 to 11 are charged 50%. Not hungry? Take the same tour for $8 usd less. Tour lasts 5 hours

CHACCOBEN TOUR ONLY: If ancient Mayan ruins is your preferred option then choose this tour for only $50 usd. Same rates for children apply. Duration of tour….approx.  3 hours.

BACALAR LAGOON RESORT ONLY: Not that interested in Mayan Ruins? Spend even more time, approx. 4 hours, at the resort chilling out and enjoying the view. Cost including lunch and drinks $70 usd, Same rates apply for children.
