Quiet Getaway
We had a great experience at the Bacalar lagoon resort. Even the drive off the hiway was an adventure. There are pineapple plantations along the road on the way to the resort. We had stopped a couple of times and talked to some of the farmers, as it was harvest time in some of the fields.

Amazing hidden place.. beautiful
Decided to make the 3 hour drive from Playa Carmen because my Mexican friend’s highly recommended me to go. Wow, this place was wonderful, there is a long dirt and bumpy road through jungle and at moments we felt we were going nowhere, but all of a sudden came to the entrance of the resort. Truly amazing place, we were happily greeted by the hotel staff. We had a bungalow right in front of the lake.

Paradise for families
This place is just AMAZING in every way. Yes, the way here is a bit uneasy since it is a dirt road that does not seem to go anywhere but then you arrive and it is breathtaking. I do not know how to begin… the staff is friendly, the rooms are comfortable and yes they do not have TV nor WiFi, the lake is clean, warm, beautiful. The restaurant is a little bit slow in service but it is definitely worth the wait. Food is delicious and very consciously priced.
